Comparing Virtue and Vice in Utopia, The Bible, and Othello The definition of virtue varies between cultures and societies. Utopian ideas of virtue do not necessarily agree with Biblical or Elizabethan England views, however, More’s "Utopia," the Biblical accounts in Genesis of Joseph and Jacob, and Shakespeare’s "Othello" all present the concept of virtue prevailing over vice. Although at times vice may appear to triumph over virtue, ultimately poetry presents virtue as superior based on the differing definitions of virtue. The punishment of vice and advocacy of virtue is a popular theme of literature and the reason why Sir Philip Sidney correctly asserts that poetry encourages virtue and condemns vice as repulsive. More’s "Utopia" advocates the pursuit of virtue, however, virtue is defined as a type of hedonism. Utopians follow a unique definition of virtue, which advocates a life of pleasure and the pursuit of happiness. Virtue is considered living the way people are designed to live, or according to nature. Utopians believe this translates as living a life based on achieving pleasure. The Utopian definition of pleasure may include helping other people, humanitarian views which are still advocated in the 21st century, but definitely does not include working hard for painful "virtue" which they consider not true virtue at all if you must deprive yourself and suffer misery. A virtuous life is encouraged by the punishment of crime, or vice. Utopians reward virtue, and punish those who attempt crime. Strict slavery is the punishment for violating wedding vows, and the other punishments are determined based on the extent of the crime. More’s fictional world of Utopia contrasts virtue and vice in society and upholds virtue as... ...e and despised character who endeavors to escape the misery of his life through suicide. The virtuous character of Cassio, shows the ultimate success and triumph of virtue over vice as he attains worldly success and defeats Iago, who is full of vice. These complex literary characters present morality as desirable and vices as deplorable. The narratives of Genesis, "Utopia," and Othello" all exemplify the achievements and victories of virtuous characters or traits. The failures and miseries inherently connected with vices are also presented. These literary works corroborate Sir Philip’s claim that poetry presents virtue in a light so "that one must needs be enamored of her." It can be assumed, therefore, that the study of literary works such as these can only improve morals and virtues, and for the good of American society, all students should major in Literature.

Top ministers downplayed any talk of a teetering government. ‘We have enough friends today, we had enough friends yesterday †¦ So I don't see any reason why you should doubt our stability,† Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram told reporters. In Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, protesters blocked railroad tracks. Some held up placards reading ‘Go back Tesco' a reference to the U. S. retail giant expected to enter the Indian market under the new regulations.By use all of these issues the opposition parties want to take out the advantage and by demolish this government they want to create out their own government. Conclusion Although Tesco is doing well in all of the territories, But in India Tesco can be failed because India is too much emotionally involved with its cultural and economical perspective. Traders and retailers of India will not easily accept it which could become and unfavorable loss for Tesco. People are not adopt to change there but once Tesco start its operation fully as Tesco is signing contract with Tata slowly this impact will change the environment.

In an age dominated by logic and reason, a new movement would spring up taking the world by storm. The movement is known as Romanticism, and would replace logic with emotion and reason with the sublime. It was a response to how cold, bitter, and hollow living life based solely on logic was. Among the many artists, novelists, and poets that championed the movement, was a painter by the name of Joseph Mallord William Turner. J.M.W Turner is remembered for works such as The Fall of an Avalanche in the Grisons, Snow Storm-Steam-Boat off a Harbour’s Mouth and Tintern Abbey, whose location was the subject of a poem by William Wordsworth. Tintern Abbey is one example of how Romantics adored nature and perceived it as a divine entity. The bulk of Turner’s training came from the Royal Academy schools. Answer: The problem The present assignment is based on a job satisfaction survey of healthcare organization. 30 participants were surveyed in 2013 and 2014. The survey was based on the questionnaire developed by Weiss et.al. (1967). The questionnaire developed by Weiss et.al. is known as the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. This is a set of 20 questions, which tests the satisfaction level of a participant at his work place. The answers to the survey is in the form of a Likert scale which gives Very Satisfied a score of 5 and Very Dissatisfied a score of 1. The purpose of the survey was to assess the job satisfaction at the healthcare organization. What are the factors at the work which place gives satisfaction to a worker and what are the factors with which the employees are not at all satisfied. Based on the survey employees could be better understood so that a conducive work environment could be created. For the purpose of the analysis, the survey was done in 2013 and again in 2014 with 30 participants every year. The 30 participants were grouped into three groups of 10 participants each. The satisfaction level of the three groups for both the years was analysed using one-way ANOVA. The results of the analysis of 2013 were compared with that of 2014. Analysis of 2013 The scores of the 30 participants were averaged in groups of three. The first 10 participants in group 1, the next 10 participants in group2 and the last 10 participants in group3. The scores of the first 10 participants were averaged to make the group 1. Similarly the other groups were done. The averaged scores for each of the 20 questions for the year 2013 is shown in table 1. Also the scores for all the 20 questions were summed and averaged. For the ANOVA the NULL hypothesis is i.e., the mean score of job satisfaction at the health care organization for group 1, group2 and group 3 are equal. i.e., the mean scores of job satisfaction at the health care organization of group 1, group 2 and group 3 are different. The three groups were tested at significance level of 0.05. Since the p-value for the ANOVA of the year 2013 is less than 0.000 hence we reject the NULL hypothesis. Thus we can say that there are differences between the groups. Since the mean scores of the three groups are statistically significantly different, hence we can say that the average satisfaction level of group 3 is the least. The average satisfaction level of group 1 is the highest. Looking at the values of variance we can say that the average scores of group 1 is the least inconsistent. Similarly, the average score of group 3 is the most inconsistent. Analysis of 2014 Similar to 2013 the 30 participants of 2014 were divided into three groups of 10 participants each. Thus we can say that there are differences between the scores of the three groups. Since the mean scores of the three groups are statistically significantly different, hence we can say that the average satisfaction level of group 3 is the least. The least job satisfied are the participants 21 to 30 of 2013. The average score of the 20 parameters is 2.185. The above group of participants have the least inconsistent ratings. The most job satisfied are the participants 1 to 10 of both 2013 and 2014. This group has the most consistent ratings. Job satisfaction at the work place is one of the most important factors, which determines the productivity and efficiency. Productivity and job satisfaction at a healthcare organization is leads to better compliance amongst the healthcare professional and stakeholders (Kumar et.al., 2013). The absence of job satisfaction at the healthcare organization would lead to more employee turnover. The categories of employees can be both physicians and nurses. Mistress of Mankind Essay Alliteration is a formal feature devised by Wilmot, in instances towards the poems end, with the willing womb, mighty mind and mistress of mankind. Wilmot also uses capital letters for words such as Face, Mind and Sense, in the middle of lines. This is a feature, seemingly used to make these particular words stay in the readers mind, being important words. Armitage appears to use a different technique for the same affect by structuring his lines in order to place important words at the end of lines; this can be illustrated by life and blades, both essential parts to the poems depiction, and both at the end of lines. Armitage uses enjambment to connect all his lines, keeping them flowing into each other. This also gives the poem a speech-like affect, as though this is a passing thought inside the poets head. Wilmot uses periphrasis in the line being yours, and yours alone, using more words than necessary in the circumstance. This serves to emphasise this point and also maintains the structure of the poems metrical rhythm. Wilmot in one instance uses a rhetorical question with To damn you to be only mine. Armitage doesnt use this feature, however uses commas in the middle of lines to allow the reader time to pause and perhaps contemplate. The line the doctor said, for eternity demonstrates this point. John Wilmot uses metaphorical words, unlike Armitage. Seed receiving earth is a natural metaphor he deploys for effect. He also uses grandiose language, demonstrated in Universal Influence. Armitage is far from grandiose, with the whole poem simplistic and clear of what is being said. Personification is used by the John Wilmot also when he describes the willing womb, as though it is alive in itself. Armitage uses no imagery, he explains the events as they happened, also exploring reasons for the actions which are described. Wilmot firstly discusses his feelings upon his mistress; he then goes on to widen his thoughts onto all women by saying Spirits of your Sex. At the end of the second stanza he begins talking in an even more grandiose fashion, continuing this into the last by saying Mistress of Mankind. Armitage uses a similar technique in allowing the poem to develop stanza by stanza, allowing the poem to be sectioned into certain parts. He begins with his thoughts on an event, then explaining the consequences, and in the final stanza explains his actions in order to complete the sequence. Armitage and Wilmot, use this to structure their poems into divisions to be recognised by the reader. In conclusion both Wilmot and Armitage in the poems discussed employ several formal features. These include repetition, sound patterning, different rhyme forms, stress on certain syllables to create particular metres and alliteration. Formal features are devised to provide meaning, acoustic effects and aesthetic effects to the poems.
